Anthony Morreale

International Politics Junior Editor

Anthony Morreale is a junior from Grosse Pointe, MI studying political science with a minor in business. This fall will be his first semester working as a junior editor for the International Politics section. Anthony is specifically interested in international economics, trade policy, and global security policy. He is also a member of the Enactus Consulting Group which works to empower local nonprofits and sustainable startups. After graduation, Anthony plans to attend law school and pursue a career in business law.

Gabriella Cristiano

International Politics Junior Editor

Gabriella Cristiano is from Westchester, NY and is currently a senior completing her honors political science degree, minoring in history of law and policy. She has been a member of MJPS since her sophomore year at Michigan, and is a part of the international team. Gabriella is also a member of MiTutor, an organization at the University that allows students to tutor children in the metro-Detroit area free of charge. Upon graduating from the University of Michigan, Gabriella hopes to attend law school and pursue criminal and civil law in her career.

Dana Elobaid

American Politics Junior Editor

Dana Elobaid is a junior at the University of Michigan studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics, with a minor in Quantitative Methods of the Social Sciences. She has been a member of MJPS since the fall of her sophomore year, and is an editor for the American Politics section. Outside of MJPS, Dana works as Copy Chief for The Michigan Daily, and is a communications intern for CHRT, a public health nonprofit. Upon graduation, Dana hopes to work in housing and education policy.

Miguel Calle

American Politics Junior Editor

Miguel Calle is from Medellin, Colombia and is currently a junior completing his political science degree, minoring in history of law and policy. He has been a member of MJPS since his sophomore year at Michigan, and is a part of the American team. Miguel is also a member of the Michigan Journal of International Affairs and the Michigan Journal of Economics. Upon graduating from the University of Michigan, Miguel hopes to attend law school and pursue business law in his career.

Rachel Barkan

Comparative Politics Junior Editor

Rachel Barkan is a senior at the University of Michigan studying political science and quantitative methods in the social sciences. She has been a member of the MJPS since the winter of her sophomore year. Rachel plays for the women’s club frisbee team at Michigan and works for the Immigrant Justice Lab which assists the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center with their asylum work. After graduating Rachel plans to attend law school.

Jessica Qian

Comparative Politics Junior Editor

Jessica is a sophomore majoring in Business Administration with an intended dual degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics. She has been a member of MJPS since her freshman year in the comparative politics section. On campus, Jessica is also a member of Global Investments Committee and Atlas Consulting Group and writes for Michigan Foreign Policy Council. After graduating, Jessica hopes to work in finance and attend law school later on.

Ethan Medal-Katz

Comparative Politics Junior Editor

Ethan Medal-Katz is a junior from the California Bay Area majoring in Political Science and minoring in Philosophy. He is working as a first year editor on the Comparative Politics section, and is specifically interested in education and criminal justice reform. Recently he interned for California State Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan, and after graduation he hopes to attend law school or pursue a masters degree in Public Policy.

Selin Baytan

Selin Baytan, a senior from New York, is double majoring in Political Science and French and minoring in Philosophy. On campus, she is the Co-President of UNICEF at the University of Michigan, the Co-Editor-In-Chief of the Michigan Journal of Political Science, and an intern at the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM). Selin enjoys singing, playing tennis, learning about world politics and languages, reading, and traveling in her free time. Within political science, she has a passion for international human rights law, especially pertaining to refugees. After graduating, Selin plans to attend law school and pursue a career in international human rights law.

Amal Deochand

Amal is a senior from Long Island, New York studying Finance at the Ross School of Business and Aerospace Engineering. Outside of school, he is the founder of the Ferda Clinic, a free clinic that teaches elementary-school students in his hometown the fundamentals of lacrosse. Amal enjoys playing poker, skiing on fresh powder, and building drones to tackle social issues.

Bailey Moshal

Bailey Moshal is a senior at the University of Michigan studying Political Science and History with a minor in Middle Eastern Studies. He has been a member of MJPS since the fall of his sophomore year, and is the section editor of the comparative politics section. In addition to MJPS, Bailey is a member of Kappa Alpha Pi Pre-Law Fraternity and was a writer for Michigan Foreign Policy Council. After graduating, Bailey plans to attend law school.

Shihan Zhou

Alicia is a junior at the University of Michigan double majoring in Economics and Film, Television and Media Studies. She has been an editor for the MJPS since the start of her UofM experience. Alicia is also a member of the Michigan Pre-law Society, Cinnamon Cinema, and the Ross Asia Business Conference. She works for the Future of Work Initiative of the Center for Social Solutions affiliated with LSA. After graduating, Alicia plans to attend law school.

Alexa George

Alexa George is a junior at the University of Michigan double majoring in political science and Italian. She has been an editor for the MJPS since her freshman year in the American Politics section. Alexa is also a member of Phi Delta Phi Pre-Law Honors Society and the Michigan Polo Club. Upon graduation next year, Alexa plans to pursue a JD/MBA program in New York.
